Senior National Account Manager

About the role:
At Hero UK&I, we’re looking for a strategic, commercially minded Senior National Account Manager to lead some of the UK’s most loved natural food brands; Organix, Goodies and Deliciously Ella. You will lead a team of Account Managers and take ownership of our key grocery customers, delivering growth and driving the availability of healthy, natural products across the UK retail landscape.
What you’ll be doing
- Own the external relationship with the buyer(s), building on our strategic partnership to enable us to supercharge our growth.
- Lead and deliver Joint Business Plans tailored to customer needs and Hero UK&I brand strategies, with a focus on mutual, profitable growth.
- Support and evolve the grocery channel strategy, working closely with our sales,category and marketing teams.
- Identify and act on commercial opportunities using EPOS data, market trends, category data and shopper insights to drive performance across multiple categories.
- Manage promotional investment and trade spend to maximise ROI and brand impact.
- Own and lead the full commercial picture – including P&Ls, forecasting, pricing, and margin delivery.
- Work cross-functionally with supply chain, marketing, category, and finance to meet customer needs and deliver against plans.
- Take full responsibility for account admin, including forecast accuracy, invoice tracking, and competitor monitoring.
- Lead and drive clear, proactive communication internally and externally to ensure seamless execution of plans.
- Increase product visibility and availability in-store, leveraging category insights and creative activations both on- and off-shelf.
- Monitor and respond to competitor activity, adapting strategies to stay ahead in a competitive market.
- Ensure administrative excellence, hitting internal KPIs for forecast accuracy and reporting.
- Champion your customers internally, sharing insights and performance updates to shape wider business decisions.
- Drive distribution gains, secondary space wins, and impactful shopper marketing campaigns to accelerate growth.
- Input into NPD projects to ensure the product proposition, pricing and packaging is aligned to customer needs and will land well in market
- Be a catalyst for change, challenging the status quo to deliver innovation and better ways of working.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven FMCG experience managing major UK grocery accounts (Top 4)
- Proven experience leading a team and people management
- Ability to lead cross-functional planning and execution
- Experience in managing multiple buying relationships
- Strong commercial acumen, solid P&L understanding, and the ability to balance top-line growth with profitability. Confident using data to drive insights, forecasting, and planning.
- A passionate, ambitious salesperson with sharp negotiation skills and a clear hunger for delivering sustainable, profitable growth.
- Experience managing multiple brands/customers. Empathy for purpose-led brands and a passion for natural, healthy food.
- Able to build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior retail partners.
- Big-picture mindset with the ability to find creative solutions and make smart commercial decisions.
- Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities with discipline and efficiency. Confident challenging the status quo.
